Rolls-Royce builds cars like no other. The charm, the aura that the spirit of ecstasy statuette carries around itself is probably unmatched around the globe. The Rolls-Royce Dawn was first unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015. The Dawn moniker was revived by the British luxury car maker after six decades of the Silver Dawn. The Dawn is a two-door four seater convertible, the second one from Rolls-Royce after the Phantom Drophead Coupe.

The Dawn looks like a typical Rolls-Royce with the large radiator grille in front and the square fascia. The headlamps with the underlining daytime running lamps have been taken over from the Ghost while the raked bumper and front fenders resemble the Wraith. The lines of the Dawn are as stately as they can get with the thick bonnet creases and a stout shoulder line. While the air dam on the lower part of the bumper might be a little busy, it adds the touch of sportiness to this convertible.

The door is hinged at the other end and you enter the cabin close to the raked windscreen. The interior is upholstered in one of the most luxurious leathers and exquisitely laid out. It is a Rolls Royce and gets everything that you need in a car and possibly a little more. The cabin has a classic touch in terms of looks and speaks of the spotless lineage of Rolls-Royce luxury.

Under the hood, you have the legendary 6.6-litre turbocharged V12 belting out 563bhp of power at 5250rpm and 780Nm of torque from 1500rpm. The refined mill is mated to a custom built eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels and propels the Dawn from zero to 100kmph in less than five seconds. And it is impressive as the Dawn weighs a tad above two and a half tonnes.

The Bentley Continental GTC is probably its closes competitor, but, the Rolls-Royce Dawn costs more than one and a half times of the Bentley.
